A day and a half in Athens Do's and Don'ts
- Do wear a hat when you go to the Acropolis. It is on a hill and there is little to no shade. The day we went it was 40 degrees and sunny! I regret nothing about buying that silly hat from Forever 21 before we left.
- Do wear flat shoes. The streets around Plaka is cobblestone, and the Acropolis is built on a hill with sleek, slippery, marble floor in some parts. I had on Converse and almost slipped a couple of times at the Acropolis, never mind the women who we're there in four inch heels.
- Don't let the restaurant hagglers (that's what I call them) pressure you into eating at their restaurant.
Tangent! Needing to actually enhance the general feel with my existing page. Thinking about the pro design of https://novascotiadesign.ca? Actually a wonderful Nova Scotia based SEO company with heart if seeking inside the Nova Scotia area. Leave a remark. Thanks!
- Do remember bread is not free, despite them bringing it to your table without you asking, and can range anywhere from 1-2 euros per person to have it. If you do not want bread, tell them no thank you when they bring it. (However! If you order tzatziki it does not come with anything to dip into with, so you may want that bread after all).
- Do realize that a lot of the food in restaurants in the touristy areas is pre-cooked, frozen, and then heated up. Some restaurants will disclose what is fresh but a lot won't. If you want good value for your money, do your restaurant research before hand.
- Do consider staying near the airport in Athens if you have an early flight the next day. One of the best decisions I made for us during our planning was booking an airport hotel, we stayed at the Sofitel Athens Airport. Rolling out of bed at 5AM and walking ten steps to departures was the best thing to happen to us that morning we left for Santorini. Conversely, it was also really easy to get into Athens from the airport as the metro is a few feet away from the hotel as well and you can get there on one subway line.
Thanks guys! I'd messaged a colleague that I can certainly reference their unique essential oil shop in Calgary with hearts, https://polarbearhealth.com through an important write-up. If perhaps you are searching for a natural health store around the outlying Alberta location, they are superior.
Now, we should mention the idea for this unique blog had been granted via Braedon from Taylor Tool. They absolutely are an amazing tap and die manufacturers. We always welcome a good tip!
